Tier credits reset each calendar year. Slot and video poker play earns 1 tier credit per $5 in coin-in; table play is rated by the pit rather than tracked automatically, and non-gaming spend on rooms, dining, spa and entertainment earns at published per-dollar rates. What MGM Rewards actually gets you, based on what the program publishes:

• Complimentary self-parking at MGM's Las Vegas resorts from Pearl tier upward. The tier at which parking becomes free varies by property, so check the specific resort — this directory's parking notes list ARIA as Pearl and above and Bellagio as Gold and above.
• MGM Rewards points earned alongside tier credits, redeemable for FREEPLAY, dining, hotel stays, entertainment and retail at participating properties.
• Priority and express check-in at mid and upper tiers, which matters at properties with 4,000-room towers and long peak-season lobby lines.
• Room upgrades subject to availability at Gold and above.
• Waived resort fees on comped room offers at upper tiers — a meaningful saving given Strip resort fees run in the $45-per-night range at the flagship properties.
• Reservation and dining line access, including priority seating at participating restaurants and venues.
• BetMGM integration — sportsbook and online casino play ties into the same account.

Three or more nights at any MGM property on the Strip. This is the program's core case. MGM's nine Las Vegas resorts run from Excalibur at the value end to Bellagio and ARIA at the top, and all of them feed one tier-credit balance. A four-night stay with meals, a show and moderate play puts Pearl within reach for many visitors, and Pearl is where the parking benefit starts paying for itself.

Center-Strip walkers who don't want to pick one hotel. The MGM cluster is geographically dense — Bellagio, ARIA, Cosmopolitan, Park MGM and New York-New York are all within a short walk of each other, and the Mandalay Bay–Luxor–Excalibur tram links the south end. You can stay at one, eat at another and gamble at a third without leaving the program.

Visitors who care more about fees than comps. If you're a light gambler, the accumulated-points side of MGM Rewards will not amount to much. The tier benefits will. Free self-parking and waived resort-service charges are worth real money on a multi-night trip regardless of how much you play.

Travelers who also visit MGM's regional properties. Because Borgata, National Harbor, Springfield and Beau Rivage share the program, play accumulated on an East Coast trip counts toward the same annual tier as your Vegas trip.

No major Las Vegas program publishes a room-comp threshold. Comped rooms are issued as targeted offers based on your rated play, not earned at a fixed point total, and two members at the same tier can receive very different offers.
