About

The South Coast Hotel & Casino opened on December 22, 2005, as a Coast Casinos property located far south on Las Vegas Boulevard. Built by legendary Las Vegas casino operator Michael Gaughan, the property featured 652 rooms, an 80,000 square foot casino floor, and notably included a 4,600-seat equestrian center for rodeo and horse events. The South Coast also boasted a 500-seat showroom, bowling center, and extensive dining options. In October 2006, less than a year after opening, Michael Gaughan purchased the property from Coast Casinos and renamed it South Point Hotel Casino & Spa. The South Point continues to operate successfully today as one of the most popular locals casinos in southern Las Vegas.
