Mermaids Casino was a small, ocean-themed slot parlor on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas that operated from 1999 to 2016. Known primarily for its deep-fried Twinkies and other carnival-style snacks, Mermaids was a quirky fixture of the Fremont Street Experience. The tiny casino had no table games and focused entirely on slot machines and video poker. The property was purchased by Derek Stevens along with the adjacent Las Vegas Club and Glitter Gulch to make way for the construction of Circa Resort & Casino.
