About
The Marina Hotel & Casino was a nautical-themed resort on the Las Vegas Strip that operated from 1975 to 1990. The property was known for its maritime decor, deep-sea fishing motif, and being one of the more affordable Strip options. In 1989, Kirk Kerkorian purchased the Marina as part of his plan to build the massive MGM Grand. The Marina was incorporated into the MGM Grand complex, with part of the original building serving as the MGM Grand's west wing until it was eventually demolished.
