This luxurious Western-themed resort featured the famous Last Frontier Village, a replica Old West town that served as a tourist attraction. The property was renamed The New Frontier in 1955 after a $1 million renovation that modernized the property. The Last Frontier was where Elvis Presley made his Las Vegas debut in 1956, though the performance was poorly received by the older audience. The original Last Frontier buildings were demolished in 1965 to make way for a completely new Frontier hotel.
