Opening on April 3, 1941, this Western-themed resort pioneered the concept of combining gambling, lodging, dining, and entertainment in one destination. The property featured a signature windmill, swimming pool, horseback riding, and a showroom that attracted Hollywood celebrities. El Rancho Vegas set the template that every subsequent Vegas resort would follow. Tragically, the property was destroyed by fire on June 17, 1960, and was never rebuilt.
